Senior Fund Accountant
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Fund Accountant to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of our private equity and real estate funds, including timely completion of quarterly NAVs, ensuring accuracy of capital call and distribution workings, and coordinating with the fund administrator and external accounts to ensure regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fund administration, accounting, and financial analysis.
Role and Responsibilities:
Work closely with the investment team in their quarterly valuation for illiquid and liquid funds, including:
- Timely completion of the quarterly review
- Review the NAV and valuation workings provided by the fund administrator.
- Review accounts for the onshore companies prepared by the firm’s administrator.
- Coordinate with the firm’s administrator on the preparation of the waterfall valuation models.
- Exit schedule and upcoming cashflows.
- Deployment forecast
Investment capital call and distribution
- Manage the fund administrator in the capital call and distribution process.
- Work with the administrator to prepare calculations to ensure accuracy.
- Ensure timely dry powder preparations and distributions for exit.
Coordinate with external account:
- Ensure that all federal and state tax filing are filed by the respective deadlines.
- Ensure timely payment of taxes for US companies when necessary.
Other responsibilities
- Manage third party provider to ensure that all statutory filings are performed on a timely basis. Responsible to coordinate entity formation and dissolutions
- Monitoring of cash and bank accounts management for all SPVs
- Assist in reviewing fund administration daily transaction feed in the client portfolio system.
- Reconcile the fund administrator books and records with the internal systems.
- Liaise with both· internal auditors and external auditors on an annual basis.
- Able to lead new initiatives and projects that come up from time to time.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA/ACCA/CMA certification
- Fund administration experience for an Asset Management firm or leading fund administrator focusing on private equity/real estate funds
Knowledge, skills, ability and competencies
- High integrity
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Proficient in preparing management reporting.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
- Ability to model complex allocations in Excel.
- Ability to lead and supervise resources when required.
- Ability to liaise and interact with 3rd party external professionals.
